What a year it’s been for the Youth Pro-Animal Awards! As our summer 2025 submissions close, we’re reflecting with awe and gratitude on the passion, creativity, and courage that young changemakers around the world have shown in advocating for farm animals. Every single submission reminded us of the immense impact possible when youth use their voices for good.
This year, we had the honor of awarding grants to 25 outstanding activists, ages 13–19, who are using social media to make a difference for farm animals. Their work spans continents and cultures—from the United States to Kenya, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, the Netherlands, and Czechia—proving that compassion knows no borders.
A Global Movement of Youth Advocacy
These young creators brought their full selves to the table. Some shared joyful videos of farm animals living their best lives at sanctuaries. Others took bold steps to expose the realities of factory farming through undercover footage. We saw everything from favorite vegan recipes and cruelty-free fashion tips to the launch of youth-led plant-based brands and grassroots nonprofits.
We were especially moved by those who spotlighted how farm animals are treated in their local communities—and why they believe in building a better world. Their content ran the full spectrum of advocacy, and their creativity continues to inspire us.
Honoring Our 2025 Grand Prize Winners
Thanks to our incredible panel of judges, who reviewed hundreds of submissions, we’re proud to highlight five youth creators whose work stood out for its impact, originality, and heart. Each Grand Prize winner received a grant to grow their digital advocacy and expand their reach.

At just 13 years old, Scout did something extraordinary. After learning about a newborn calf destined for slaughter, she used her birthday money to help save him and found him a forever home. This powerful act of compassion moved judges Brunna Sachs and Farrah Amber, and set a truly inspiring tone for our awards season.
🏆 June Grand Prize Winner: @porterfortheanimals (United States)
Porter, age 13, is growing up on one of the largest pig sanctuaries in the U.S., @outsidersfarm. Surrounded by over 400 rescued animals, he launched a playful and powerful “Pig Petting Challenge” to show the world how gentle pigs truly are. Judges Jamie Logan, Lily Carrington, and Brunna Sachs were moved by his creativity and compassion.

Jay uses her platform to educate others about the animal world—one honest, funny, and informative post at a time. Her videos encourage curiosity, compassion, and action. Judges Jonathan Roehm and Marcela Carrocino selected Jay for her clarity and charisma.
🏆 August Grand Prize Winner: @graciehohn (United States)
Gracie Hohn, a Youth Advisory Committee member of @leap4animals and volunteer at Iowa Farm Sanctuary, uses her platform to speak out about the harms of factory farming. Judges Jo Steel and Dom Thompson recognized her powerful storytelling and commitment to advocacy.
🏆 Fan Favorite Grand Prize Winner: @blackflagrefuge (United States)
Ariya, founder of @blackflagrefuge—a microsanctuary for rescued chickens and cats in Michigan—captured hearts and won the fan voting grand prize. Her care, creativity, and passion for protecting animals touched our entire community. By sharing the stories of her rescued animals, many of whom are disabled, Ariya reminds us that every act of compassion matters.
