Rules & Guidelines
The Youth Pro-Animal Awards (YPAA) is an international grant competition that supports and celebrates young people (ages 13–19) using social media to advocate for farm animals.
How to Enter
Anyone ages 13–19 can apply by posting a video that advocates for farm animals on TikTok or Instagram. Entries can be in any language and must include the tags @ProAnimalAwards and #ProAnimalAwards.
Timeline and Prizes
Submissions for the 2025 awards are closed, as of August, 2025. Videos posted after that time will be eligible for our 2026 awards (details TBD). There’s no limit to how many grants someone can win— the more pro-animal content you share, the better your chances.
Content Guidelines
We welcome videos that support farm animal rights and animal welfare, as well as videos that advocate against factory farming or encourage reduced consumption of animal products. If you’re unsure where to start, try sharing your story of compoassion—why do farm animals matter to you?
Judging Criteria
Judges are looking for creativity, passion, and a compelling message that highlights the many reasons someone might choose to support farm animals.
Use of Submitted Content
By entering the awards, you grant YPAA permission to share your content on our website, social media, and other promotional platforms.
Receiving Your Grant
Once selected, winners will be contacted by our partner nonprofit, The Pollination Project, with a grant agreement and funding paperwork. Entrants under 18 will need a parent or guardian’s signature.
Using Your Grant
YPAA grants are designed to support your content creation. Past winners have used their funds to purchase phone and camera gear, build websites, launch podcasts, or cover production costs like food, props, and travel. If our grants have helped to amplify your advocacy, please tag @ProAnimalAwards and #ProAnimalAwards in your posts.

What’s the deadline to enter?
The 2025 awards are closed, but you can keep posting videos and tagging #proanimalawards - we’ll keep your videos in mind for our next round of awards.
What do winners receive?
Past winners have received content creator grants (up to $5,000), mentorship, brand and nonprofit partnerships and promotion via our website and social channels. Some winners have also been spotlighted for special awards or given chances to speak on larger platforms.
Why is this competition only open to teenagers?
We want to support new voices leading the way for farm animals. Teenagers have a unique perspective, bold energy, and fresh ideas that the world needs right now. Adults can help, but this stage belongs to youth.
Why is YPAA focused on farm animals?
Farm animals—like cows, pigs, chickens, goats, turkeys and sheep—are some of the most commonly raised animals in the world, yet they’re often the most overlooked when it comes to protection and compassion. They live complex lives, form friendships, and feel pain and joy, just like our pets do. That’s why we’re calling on young people to speak up, share their stories, and help create a world where every animal is treated with kindness.
Can I submit content that’s already been posted before?
Yes! As long as it fits the theme and message of YPAA, feel free to reshare or repost existing content. Just don’t forget to tag @proanimalawards and use #ProAnimalAwards so we can find it.
Do I need to have my own social media account?
Nope! You don't need your own account to participate. You can post using a parent’s account, your school or organization’s page, or someone else’s—with their permission, of course. What matters most is that your voice is heard and your message gets out into the world.
Do videos need to be in English?
Please feel free to post in whatever language works best for you. We just ask that you use the English hashtag #ProAnimalAwards so that we can keep track of your post.
Can I post multiple videos?
Please do! The more videos you share, the bigger impact you can make for farm animals. Whether it's different takes, new ideas, or updates on your project, each post helps spread kindness and spark change. So feel free to keep the creativity flowing!
Do food videos count?
Yes! If your video encourages reducing the consumption of animals or helps others transition to more plant-based choices, it totally counts. Showing how tasty, easy, or fun compassionate eating can be is a powerful (and delicious) way to inspire change.
Do I have to be vegan to enter? What if I’m not an activist?
This contest is open to everyone! If you care about animals in any way, please post a video - we’d love to hear what you think.
