🌍 Edgar: A Youth Animal Rights Activist Leading Change in Kenya

At just 13 years old, Edgar from Busia, Kenya has become a rising voice for farm animal protection—using creativity, compassion, and community leadership to make a lasting impact.

As a two-time recipient of the Youth Pro-Animal Awards, Edgar used his grants to launch a youth-led group called Voice for Farm Animals, focused on farm animal rights in Kenya. His work inspired young people across Kenya and earned recognition as one of the top youth animal rights activists in East Africa.

“I cared about animals—mostly cows, chickens, and goats—because they felt pain just like us,” Edgar said.

đŸ“± How Edgar Used His Grant to Support Farm Animal Advocacy

With support from the Youth Pro-Animal Awards, Edgar’s group purchased a tablet, a lighting kit and a Canva subscription, that helped him and other youth in his community create and share content about farm animal rights. Their group writes poems, takes photos, and records videos to teach others about kindness and ethical treatment.

🐐 Building a Compassionate Future

Edgar’s dream was simple and powerful:

“I wanted to help more children learn that farm animals deserved love. I believed our voice—even as youth—could make a big change.”

His work shows that age was no barrier to impact. By combining storytelling, grassroots organizing, and digital media, Edgar has become one of the most inspiring young vegan influencers in the region.
